After achieving AAOIFI Fellowship, many of the BAFF members are considering further studies and looking for research opportunities in Islamic banking and finance. Accordingly, the first of the BAFF Research Seminar series will be on the experience sharing of someone who has walked that path.
Brief profile of the speaker:
Dr. TANIN is a seasoned (senior) assistant professor, research consultant, research analyst, and finance manager with a distinguished career spanning over 12 years in academia and industry. Boasting a PhD in Finance from the highly-ranked Monash University (USnews World Rank: 37), where he was supervised by finance, econometrics, business statistics, and economics experts, he is a finance expert. Dr. TANIN’s exceptional academic record, marked by High Distinction (80%+) achievements in his PhD, MSc, MBA, BBA, and receipt of seven merit-based awards and scholarships, including the Monash Research Merit Scholarship for PhD, INCEIF Full/President’s Scholarship for MSc, and Best Conference Paper Award, speak to his dedication and expertise.
Dr. TANIN is dedicated to interdisciplinary research and has collaborated with professors from 18 top-tier universities worldwide. As the lead researcher and first author, he has published eight research papers (three ABDC: A*-ranked) with highly-ranked publishers and journals, including in the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization, Energy Economics (two papers), International Review of Financial Analysis, Sustainable Development, and International Journal of Emerging Markets. He also has potential publications with top-tier journals. His research interests cover sustainability, international finance, behavioral finance, energy finance, financial markets and institutions, financial economics, corporate finance, real estate, and FinTech.
