Bangladeshi AAOIFI Fellows Forum (BAFF) stands as a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering knowledge sharing among AAOIFI Fellows in Bangladesh. Comprising industry practitioners, Shari’ah scholars, academics, regulators, standard setters, and other key stakeholders in the Islamic finance sector, BAFF aims to build a vibrant community. Currently boasting a membership of about 450 individuals, BAFF proudly represents a substantial portion of the over 600 Bangladeshi AAOIFI Fellows.

About AAOIFI

AAOIFI, established in 1991 and based in Bahrain, is the leading international not-for-profit organization primarily responsible for development and issuance of standards for the global Islamic finance industry. It has issued a total of 100 standards in the areas of Shari’ah, accounting, auditing, ethics and governance for international Islamic finance. It is supported by a number of institutional members, including central banks and regulatory authorities, financial institutions, accounting and auditing firms, and legal firms, from over 45 countries. Its standards are currently followed by all the leading Islamic financial institutions across the world and have introduced a progressive degree of harmonization of international Islamic finance practices.

CIPA

“CIPA” stands for Certified Islamic Professional Accountant and it is one of the two flagship qualifications which is offered by the AAOIFI. It was launced in 2006 and relaunched in 2017 after a three-year-long overhauling process.

CIPA is the only internationally recognized qualification in accounting for Islamic financial institutions, catering to all banking, investments, and Takaful segments.

The CIPA program is intended towards development of, and enhancing of, industry’s human resource capabilities by developing experts for Islamic finance accounting and financial reporting, audits, and Shari’ah audits.

CSAA

“CSAA” stands for Certified Shari’ah Advisor and Auditor and it’s one of the two fellowship programs offered by the AAOIFI. It was launched in 2006 and currently undergoing a revamping exercise.

CSAA is a professional fellowship in Shari’ah Advisory and Shari’ah Auditing. It is designed to equip candidates with the requisite technical understanding and professional skills on Shari’ah compliance and review processes for international Islamic banks and financial institutions.

CPFAS

CPFAS stands for Certificate of Proficiency in Financial Accounting Standard which is an advanced level certification program targeted at Islamic finance accountancy professionals who want to develop correct understanding, interpretation, and implementation skills in the requirements of the AAOIFI financial accounting standards.

The program is equivalent to the Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) module of the Certified Islamic Professional Accountant (CIPA) program, and places greater emphasis on practical knowledge and real-world application.
